The attention to detail, colour and materials makes I am heraldic a sophisticated and seductive sculpture that borders on the kitsch. lts title is a reference to Renaissance heraldic art. But the influence comes rather from the brothers Alberto Savinio and Giorgio De Chirico, two decisive artistic models for Di Massimo, and from their falsely academic paintings filled with offbeat objects. With this oversized ornament the artist encourages us to compose our own narrative and to look on images with a critical eye.
