Sitting on Juhu beach in 1941, Kekoo Gandhy, whose studies in Cambridge have been interrupted by the war, wonders what he is going to do with his life. He notices a man in a car stuck in the sand and decides to help him. Thus begins the adventure that will transform his own life, but also the artistic heritage of the city of Bombay.
Kekee Manzil: House of Art is a feature-length documentary that combines personal testimonies and rare 8-mm historical and family archives to recount the birth of a modern artistic movement in the new Indian nation. Accompanied by a captivating soundtrack specially composed by Talvin Singh.
The projection of the film Kekee Manzil: House of Art, by Behroze Gandhy and Dilesh Korya in the original version with French subtitles, is followed by a roundtable discussion in the presence of the directors, as part of the exhibition "S.H. Raza (1922-2016)".
