“El Planeta is the first feature film by Argentine artist Amalia Ulman, who became famous through her Instagram project, Excellences & Perfections. It is first and foremost the story of the director's return to the city where she grew up in the north of Spain. There, she meets her mother with whom she creates a fictional game. The film recounts the sadness of provincial life, without condescension but with a sensitivity mixed with a rare humour and tenderness.”
