Austrian composer Bernhard Lang invites ten improvisers and DJs to join a group of musicians for a workshop on the history and evolution of improvisation.
The focus is on the link between written and improvised music and on attempts to balance the two approaches. Every day, a specific theme: free rock, Coltrane, electronics of the 90s, improvisation with the computers of the 2000s, the aesthetics of loops, improvisation with machines, improvisation with texts, the Series VI Games by Bernhard Lang. These sessions, from solo to quartet, are realized using shared musical strategies. Tonight's concert is the direct result.
