The event is over
A long harmonic perspective or the sudden emergence of an untimely gesture ? The tension between continuous and discontinuous imbues the music of Philippe Leroux, and colours the final evening of ManiFeste, featuring the Israeli ensemble Meitar. In Leroux's creation, an initial point "of particularly intense density and temporal thickness" is spaced out while continuously slowing down. In his work Voi(rex), the voice of solo singer Donatienne Michel-Dansac is transformed electronically into that of the poet and composer. A continuous morphing, and an alteration of the identities between creator and performer, between the one who delineates a movement in space, the one who writes down the score or poem, and the one who listens.
