Reflets / Portrait / La Lettre / Le Vieux cimetière juif
27 Jan - 4 Mar 2020

This screening of short films focuses on films based on the portrait in the
pictorial sense and the means of depicting the past. Reflets uses a literal and
profound device to provoke a gripping dialogue between the Sarajevo of recent
war and the present day. Portrait places men and women of rural Russia before
the camera and permeates each sequence with the vibrations of the landscapes
and the soul of these beings. Le Vieux Cimetière Juif reveals how the tragic
fate of thousands of Jews during the Second World War haunts the seemingly
tranquil landscape of a Riga suburb.
Screening presented by the film critic Julien Marsa
