Graphic practices in today's publishing

Literary publishing. Drawing on completely new documentation taken from the archives of the publisher Gallimard, Alban Cerisier outlines a historical overview of graphic practices in French literary publishing since the early 20th century. He thus casts a singular light on the way the "graphic function" works with publishers. He will look at a number of major figures in the trade, who have sought to conciliate their own sensibility and desire for innovation with technical constraints and the demands of legibility.
