Voir la révolution

How can we break away from the stereotypes of Orientalist tradition which has shaped the image of the Syrian people since the 18th century? How can we execute the desire for dignity and freedom born of the revolution, which, bloodily repressed, has also been reduced since 2011 to an object of compassion or folklore? Through short films using a thousand-and-one resources in animation, the Abounaddara collective contests these reductive attributions. It will present a selection of its work, in two sessions entitled Sortir de l’Orientalisme [“Breaking away from Orientalism”] and Voir la Révolution [“Seeing the Revolution”], followed by discussions with one of the members of the collective.
