The Centre Pompidou is presenting a European preview of Wang Jianwei's film The Morning Time Disappeared. Inspired by Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis (1915) and the performance-theatre form much used by Wang Jianwei, the film shot in Beijing, explores, virtually behind closed doors, the transformation of contemporary China, the experience of time and its disappearance. The work was produced by the Guggenheim Museum of New York and the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation, for the artist's recent exhibition, "Time Temple". The film has been donated to the Centre Pompidou collection. The Morning Time Disappeared (55’, 2014), by Wang Jianwei.
