Valérie Mréjen - Three green men

Taking inspiration from sound-effects engineers and their way of reproducing sounds, Valérie Mréjen reveals the other side of objects in a poetic tale for families. A sleeping child dreams that three extra-terrestrials are travelling on a flying saucer, and land on the earth. When they come out of their space ship, they discover various everyday objects – utensils, tools, food and so on – but do not know what they are for. They are interested, and endeavour to understand them. As they handle them and try out different things, they produce sounds corresponding to phenomena well known on Earth, like fire, rain and wind. The sounds are incorporated into the child's dream, and he is wafted into unexpected situations while he sleeps, in the midst of objects that have now changed scale. The events in his dream take place before our eyes.
