This contemporary dance and music festival will look at utopias in 2007. Edgard Varèse has broken off all contact with Europe to experience modernism firsthand in the United States, Karlheinz Stockhausen has set off to explore the East, and Jonathan Harvey has wound Buddha into Wagner opera. These singular ventures, in other words, all about faraway lands.
