Jean-Yves Jouannais : L'Encyclopédie des guerres

Editions Grasset's publication of MOAB in autumn 2018 marks the tenth anniversary of Jean-Yves Jouannais's L’Encyclopédie des guerres. MOAB is the fruit of a compilation of a thousand quotes from books on war. These works—poems, novels, technical books, eyewitness accounts, history books—cover all aspects of all wars, from Antiquity to today. The result is a text with a variety of styles that attests to the eternal nature of war. MOAB is the account of a single battle told with scraps from all battles since humanity began. After its first performance in September 2017 at the Musée des Invalides, the text takes on a new form this evening in the Petite Salle at the Centre Pompidou.
