A former dancer with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, founder of the Judson Dance Theater (1962) and inventor of Contact Improvisation, the American choreographer Steve Paxton is a major figure in post-modern dance. Created in 1967, his play, Satisfyin Lover, questions the codes of choreographic composition by introducing a movement to the stage that was until now not considered as belonging the vocabulary of dance: walking. At the Pompidou Centre, choreographer Dominique Brun is displaying a revival of this legendary work. Free entry subject to available seating
