Elisabetta Benassi

Elisabetta Benassi develop a conceptual body of work involving objects, installations, video, publishing and the critical use of archives. The artist precisely constructs the gaze and the field of possibles within a space where history rubs shoulders with myth. In her work, the figure of Pasolini, the activism of the Red Brigades, the cult of fast cars and other fetishes of a virility-based counterculture are the subject of explorations, where the poetic and the political come into complex play. Her work on press photographs is one of the guiding themes of this session.
