Steven Cohen

Visual artist and performer originating from South Africa, Steve Cohen has written a very personal play with The Cradle of Humankind, composed of a one-off duo uniting Nomsa Dhalmini, his nanny, guardian and the narrator of the story of her life. To open yourself up and hold nothing back, to throw yourself into the stage environment so that "you too can see yourself through us"; these are the challenges of this project which Steven Cohen describes as work involving ethics carried out with love, and work involving love carried out without ethics.
