Allan Sekula has used photography, language and cinema since the 1970s to carry out a critical reflection on the power relations in contemporary society. Filmed in 2006, A Short Film For Laos is a portrait of contemporary Laos featuring numerous encounters with its inhabitants, and linking the present era to the vestiges of myths and war to address issues raised by the globalised world.
