Gesualdo / Momi
14 Jan 2013
The event is over
Carlo Gesualdo (1566-1613), an Italian composer and prince of Venosa, influenced his contemporaries' thinking through both his sacred and profane works – among the most innovative of his time – and his tumultuous life, which became the stuff of opera. The characteristics of Marco Momi's Iconica cycle, which include extreme refinement, an ear alert to interruptions and the revelation of a hidden image or affect, are showcased on these evenings alongside Gesualdo's Responsoria.
