Light Reading, séance autour des films de Lis Rhodes
16 Sep 2022
The event is over
Lis Rhodes is an iconic figure of the British scene. In 1978, she created Light Reading, an experimental feminist film noir that develops an investigation of the grammar of gaze and language through its voiceover.
In the artist’s production, the work of writing maintains a poetic relationship with the text present in its material, handwritten or typographic consistency.
The session is presented by María Palacios Cruz, who edited the anthology of Lis Rhodes’ texts Telling Invents Told (The Visible Press, 2019).
The TypoFilm project was developed in conjunction with the ArTeC University Research School and receives state aid from the French government, managed by the French National Research Agency as part of the Investments for the Future programme, ref. ANR-17-EURE-0008.
