An adolescent has a power, that of incorporating us into her dreams. And her nightmares. Locked in her bedroom and only interacting with the outside world virtually, the young girl charts a course between dreams and reality. Until she loses her way completely.
“Bertrand Bonello’s new film is a great lockdown film. A reclusive adolescent (Louise Labeque) is confined to her room because of a catastrophe preventing people from going out. With climate change, outdoor temperatures are topping 58 degrees, and nearly 70 degrees in Nice, as we find out in a weather forecast by the influential influencer Patricia Coma (Julia Faure, both disturbing and funny). […] Coma probably rounds off a triptych on young people in Bertrand Bonello’s body of work, which kicked off with Nocturama, and continued with Zombi Child. He delves deep into the anxiety and guilt for handing down a sick world to the next generation, but also shows faith in the younger generation’s capacity to find a way.” Jean-Marc Lalanne, Les Inrockuptibles, 12 February 2022
