Last salvo of ManiFeste in the Great North. The nature evoked by Solar is an analogy: the harmony, continually returned to its initial form, seems to obey, according to Kaija Saariaho, the laws of gravitation. A stable, "solar" harmony facing other polarities enriched by the inclusion of electronic keyboards. The nature of Hibernation reflects the absolute solitude and the slowed down rhythm. Sebastian Hilli and Jenny Jokela, two young Finnish artists, fully assume the naive and sentimental character of the animated film and musical simplicity. The nature of the Russian composer Elena Rykova is urban, abrupt, and eclectic as seen in the image, the performance, multimedia.
Finally, Beautiful Nature by the Norwegian Øyvind Torvund, improvisor and rock guitarist, is intentionally deconstructed. Through his music and his projected schemes, the composer exhibits and ruins certain clichés of the contemporary world: the fiction of an idyllic nature, the preoccupation with gender, the proliferation of field recordings, the invocation of artificial intelligence about everything and especially about nothing... ManiFeste 2022 ends this way, with a burst of healthy laughter.
