Horological Promenade III
(Promenade horlogère III)
2008
The glory portrayed in Pablo Bronstein’s work seems vain and absurd. In this same register, Horological Promenade III – an installation of two Baroque clocks and a drawing – interrogates our relationship to history. “The medium of drawing and the idea of the ruin suggest antiquity, but as these constructions are new, they also speak to us of the future”, explains the artist, who plays at pretence. The architectures imagined by the artist do not exist, and yet represent our time.
