ln 1986, Arslan started the series that would occupy him the most, L'Homme (1986-1999), inspired by his scientific reading and tackling the complexity of the body and human mind.
Several pathologies affecting bath the psychic and motor spheres are represented - choreic syndrome (Arture 391), démentia (Arture 388) or hysteria (Arture 394)- often enriched with scientific labels and illustrations. Schizophrenia is the most prominent topic in the series, with the artist considering art productions created by schizophrenics to be pure wonders of art and literature. Arture 417 reveals a typical obsession of this disorder, that of collecting objects, and Arture 455-446 transposes its universe into two juxtaposing, inverted compositions.
