La Rocca was in a league of her own against the backdrop of the two major ltalian concrete and visual poetry groups, Gruppo 63 and Gruppo 70.
Contributing to the new writing dynamic driven by Eugenio Miccini, Lamberto Pignotti, Mirella Bentivoglio and Lucia Marcucci, Ketty La Rocca explored the ambiguities of the means of communication, the relationship between body and language. She denounced their power of domination and manipulation in a variety of forms ranging from visual poems to performances, video recordings and collages.
