Katharina Grosse produces monumental and often spectacular, immersive paintings in situ, in which the performance aspect predominates. When working in her studio, she paints on metal plates, objects or atypical canvasses, such as quadrangles or this tondo. Colours are applied with large brush strokes, layer after layer, to reveal a powerful gesture.
