Adami's style with its perfect fiat slabs and scalpelled rings make his drawings all the more precious, where the trace of his hand could not be eliminated as in his paintings.

After starting out as an Expressionist, on meeting Oskar Kokoschka and being influenced by the figures of Wifredo Lam and Roberto Matta when he discovered Paris, Valerio Adami joined the wake of Surrealism with works with no blobs but with multiple literary and psychoanalytical references. Here he seeks to be more direct by engaging with news items. Eduardo Arroyo, another advocate of Narrative Figuration, would reprise the same subject in 1977.
