The anticonventional style of this desk is marked by Memphis's ambitions to combat the omnipresence of the industrial in everyday life.
Aldo Cibic, an associate of Ettore Sottsass, participated in the foundation of the Memphis group in 1981 and produced some fifteen furniture items. ln spite of its unostentatious colours and the simplicity of its lines, this desk surprises us with its sense of detail. The detachable tray, the side shelf, the blue rod and the blend of wood veneers testify to an experiment with formal language, reformulating a classic object with controlled fantasy and a sense of hybridisation.
