In to create a work based on them, Anaïs Ngbanzo lived for more than two years among the archives and notes of composer and pianist Julius Eastman.
In March 2022 she collaborated with British composer Devonté Hynes (founder of Blood Orange) to enable Eastman's work to be played on two evenings in the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection, by invitation of Cyrus Goberville. Designed as a complex mosaic of archive images, interviews and live performances, A Different Score paints a portrait of this composer who is still relatively unknown in France.
