The final days of the Berlin Wall in November 1989: the obsessive sound of picks chipping away fragments, the first transactions, the still timorous attempts to cross over, joyful reporters and foreign tourists at the Brandeburg Gate. News images projected on stretches of the Wall give this symbol of a change of epoch its historical and political dimension.
