The event is over
Ramón and Céline, a young couple, were at the Eagles of Death Metal concert at the Bataclan in Paris on that fateful night of 13 November 2015. They survived the terrorist attack, but when they left the theatre, they were no longer the same.
That night has scarred them both deeply, impacting their lives and they each try to face up to the sequels as best they could. Céline tries desperately to put the events of that night behind her, while Ramón keeps mulling them over. They both have to face the same question: how to reconnect and move on together?
Based on the autobiography of Ramón González, survivor of the Bataclan attack.
“The first thing we noticed was an overpowering light. a sudden burst of light shakes my spirit and I see the entire hall devoured by its aura. It was no longer dark. The group stopped playing. All around me, in the mosh pit, hundreds of people, like me, lying on the ground. Hiding their heads in the crook of their arms and shivering. A lot of them were barely aware of what happened. Some would die without knowing.”, Ramón González, Paz, Amor y Death Metal, Tusquets Editores, 2018
“This entire human dimension of skin and sentiments, how the story started there and never ended, nobody tells that story.” Isaki Lacuesta, EFE, 15 February 2022
