Invited to a nursing home to explore their sexual troubles, three young women spend their days and nights trying to tame their inner demons.
Supervised by a calm German therapist and a kind social worker, the group strives to maintain a fragile sense of balance. The young Geisha, the sombre Léonie and the unpredictable Eugénie try for 26 days to avoid screaming, tame the whispers of the present and contemplate the future.
“I wanted to write a dense, intimate film with beautiful, impetuous and fragile characters, quite simply. The demons of sex, the lack of it, desire, the celebration of brazened sexuality followed by disillusionment, without judgement, or any moral awareness-raising message. Without seeking to shock or embrace the spirit of the times. The gauntlet was thrown: obviously my words and vision, but a world and voice that’s feminine, as accurate as possible, without anyone accusing me of sexism, misogyny, appropriation, would it even be possible?” Denis Côté
“While their practices and fantasies might be surprising, the film confidently asserts the refusal to subordinate his characters to a spiel or overweening vision.” Olivia Cooper-Hadjian, Cahiers du Cinéma, March 2022
